A flock of merino sheep, heavily laden with their beautiful wool, are waiting for their turn to be shorn in the sheep yards attached to the shearing shed at Nullamanna NSW. This painting was my first work portraying rural subject matter, ultimately becoming a turning point in my career (although I did not know it at the time). The lives of the unique men and women who live and work on the land provided the stories I wanted my paintings to tell. (Unframed)
